Death, Ardith 'Ardie' Hinze
Apr 17, 2018Hinze, age 89, of York, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at York. She was born April 23, 1928 in York to Elroy and Loyola (Gardner) Brooke. On Oct. 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Gerald W. Hinze in York. Ardie worked for York Public Schools in the Math Department from 1969 – 1990. She was a member of W.I.F.E., the Red Hatters, St. Joseph Catholic Church Altar Society, and the P.T.A. Ardie enjoyed cooking, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by her sons, Dr. Randy (Deborah) Hinze of Columbus and Scott (Brenda) Hinze of Waco; daughter, Chere (Ken) Epke of Papillion; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Preuit of Wichita, Kan. along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry and a sister, Shirley.A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in York with the Reverend Monsignor James Reinert officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in York. Visitation will be held from 1 - 4 p.m., Thursday at the mortuary and then start again at 6 p.m., at the church. Her family will greet friends one hour prior to the 7 p.m. Rosary service at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
